On March 25, FASA/Gemini joined over 100 companies and other organizations, including FASA/Gemini members, in sending a letter to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (UsTR) urging the U.S. government to accept all petitions to add fashion accessories to the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program. A government decision on the petitions is expected in June. If the U.S. government approves the petitions, U.S. imports of fashion accessories from GSP-eligible developing countries – including the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, India, and Brazil – should be able to enter duty-free as of July 1, 2016.
