Members,
This morning we have learned that the International Longshoremen’s Association has decided to cease working on Hanjin ships and moving Hanjin cargo on the U.S East Coast ports.
It is our understanding the ILA policy is as follows:
- They will not work Hanjin vessels until the matter is resolved.
- They will work non-Hanjin vessels as normal including discharging Hanjin cargo to place of rest on the dock.
- They will not deliver Hanjin cargo currently on terminal.
We understand that Hanjin has asked for this funding and that an answer is not expected till early next week. We will continue to investigate this with terminal operators and port authorities to learn more on the ILA actions and their effect on cargo.
Best Regards

Dear Conley Terminal Customer:
Please be advised that as of 4:30pm this Friday, September 16, 2016, Conley Terminal will no longer accept empty Hanjin containers.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause but our priority is to ensure the continued smooth flow of imports and exports so we must immediately limit our inventory of empty Hanjin containers on terminal. We will continue to handle Hanjin imports at our own cost as we do today until this situation is resolved. As you know, Massport stopped accepting Hanjin exports at Conley Terminal as of August 31, 2016.
The nearest container yard that continues to accept Hanjin empties is operated by Intransit Container, Inc. and is located in Mansfield, MA. Their complete contact information is as follows:

Columbia Container Services located at 1100 Polaris in Elizabeth, NJ is also accepting Hanjin empties. They can be reached at 908-965-2035.
Please contact Intransit and/or Columbia directly for pricing and procedures as both are unaffiliated with Massport.
Thank you again for your patience as we all do our best to manage through this situation.
