NEXT Trucking, hailed as a freight-tech pioneer connecting shippers and carriers, has bolstered its finance and operations leadership to oversee the El Segundo, California-based company.
Timothy Danaher has been hired as chief financial officer and Patrick Winter has joined the company as vice president of operations.

Danaher has 20 years of experience as a finance professional, most recently serving as CFO and corporate secretary for JUUL Labs. Prior to that, he was the president and chief operations officer for Bellator MMA, a subsidiary of ViacomCBS, and senior vice president at Plainfield Asset Management.

Winter has 15 years of operations leadership across a breadth of startup verticals. He previously served as senior vice president at Health IQ. Prior to that, he led sales, marketing and operations teams throughout the United States for Uber Eats.

Fuel Ox
Fuel Ox LLC, a marketer and distributor of fuel additives to help reduce truck, marine vessel and heavy equipment operating costs while limiting emissions, has hired Paul Mazzanobile as president.
Fuel Ox, headquartered in Asbury, New Jersey, said Mazzanobile has more than 20 years of experience founding, leading and fueling the rapid growth of startups in such diverse industries as technology, medical devices and real estate. Reporting to Fuel Ox co-founder and CEO Rand Taylor, Mazzanobile will drive sales, marketing and strategic planning efforts as the company works to grow global distribution and availability through direct, retail and online channels.
“Paul has proven time and again over his career that he can take a disruptive idea and guide it from its conception to breakthrough commercialization, strategy execution and growth,” Taylor said. “His leadership, experience and marketing acumen will bring greater focus and strategic discipline to our efforts to open and develop new channels and markets, put The Fuel Ox in more fleets and equipment and get it onto more store shelves.”
Mazzanobile co-founded and led DARTMetrix, a robotic technology-enabled platform for athletes focused on building, measuring and improving speed and agility. Before that, he co-founded Strutz Inc., a medical device company focused on treatingpodiatric conditions. Earlier in his career Mazzanobile launched and led Emory Financial Partners, a real estate investment company.
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems
Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC, headquartered in Elyria, Ohio, has named three longtime members of its leadership team to newly created senior executive positions. Bendix said the moves are part of its commitment to deliver its technology road map and drive growth in alignment with parent company Knorr-Bremse, headquartered in Munich.
Mark Kromer will serve as the vice president of the center of competency (CoC) for air supply and drivetrain in North America. Aaron Schwass will be the VP of the CoC for wheel-end in North America and general manager of Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake (BSFB), a joint venture between Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and Dana Commercial Vehicle Products. Mike Tober will serve as VP of the CoC for brake control in North America.
Kromer worked for nine years as an engineer and buyer at Ford and John Deere before joining the engineering team at Bendix in 2004. He was promoted to the role of CoC director of values in 2015.
Schwass joined Bendix in 1995 as a manufacturing engineer at the Acuña, Mexico, facility. He has served as the BSFB vice president and general manager since 2012.
Tober started at Bendix as an engineering co-op student in 1998. He has served in a succession of engineering roles with increasing responsibility, including supervisor of electronic systems and controls, product manager for vehicle dynamic systems and director of electronic brake and chassis control.
Southeastern Freight Lines
Lexington, South Carolina-headquartered Southeastern Freight Lines, a provider of regional less-than-truckload transportation services, has promoted Derrick Battle to service center manager in Pensacola, Florida.
Battle has more than 26 years of experience at Southeastern, starting his career at the Atlanta service center as an inbound and breakbulk supervisor. He most recently was the service center manager in Columbus, Georgia.
“Derrick is an outstanding leader and has demonstrated his superior skill set across many different roles,” said Mark Schwarzmueller, Southeastern’s regional vice president of operations. “He has a passion for leadership development and has deployed numerous leaders throughout his time with us.
