Hubtek gathers transportation companies for 1Day Virtual Conference

As the COVID-19 pandemic ripples through the economy, transportation companies continue to provide critical solutions for challenges facing the supply chain. However, not all aspects of the logistics business have continued to roll along, as the transportation landscape has drastically changed in the past two weeks.

Highways are empty, as many companies have successfully transitioned employees to work from home, and countless industry trade shows have either been cancelled or postponed in the wake of the stay-at-home orders and travel advisories. This has led many industry professionals, particularly transportation solutions providers and influencers, to find creative ways to connect with customers and prospects.

One of those providers, Hubtek – a workforce optimization company – was looking for a way to bring the industry together during this time of isolation and create a sense of community.

“People crave community, and we have lost a lot of face time with customers and future customers due to the trade show cancellations and postponements, and there are a lot of new solutions in the industry,” said Trey Griggs, global director of sales at Hubtek. “We wanted to find a way to create these connections to encourage our customers, to meet future customers and to display the new technologies and solutions we’ve all been working on that will be incredibly beneficial in helping companies weather this storm and become more efficient in their operations.”

In reaching out to fellow vendors, Hubtek found a like-minded partner in Parade, an artificial intelligence (AI) technology company changing the way freight is moved. During a 30-minute video chat, Hubtek and Parade employees devised a plan for a new and free event to provide transportation companies an opportunity to hear from the leading innovators and influencers.

Introducing the 1Day Virtual Conference – a free one-day series of webinars for customers and solution providers to engage online. Customers will be able to interact and communicate about what’s happening in their businesses, and solutions providers will share recent innovations and other critical information.

“This is new territory for most, to rethink how we connect with our communities. The idea of safely bringing our industry together to share ideas and progress was really a no-brainer for us,” said Anthony Sutardja, chief executive officer of Parade.  “We’re excited to see everyone face to face at the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) conference in August, but in the meantime, we’re thrilled to help organize this transportation community event and hear about all of the innovation that will continue to shape our industry over the next few months and beyond.”

The webinar series will run on April 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m.-600 p.m. EDT, with a 10-minute introduction session at 9:45 a.m. EDT for opening remarks and an overview of the day. Each session will be 25 minutes in length, with some sessions running as product demonstrations and others as roundtable discussions.
